💰🎓 FINANCIAL AID & THE FAFSA 🎓💰

Your Guide to Getting Started with College Financial Aid

Paying for college can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to figure it out alone! The first step is completing the FAFSA.

📝✨ COMPLETE THE FAFSA

🎓 For Financial Aid in College, Complete the FAFSA!

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an important step in applying for financial aid for college.

🚨 IMPORTANT: THE FAFSA IS FREE! 🚨

If you are asked for money to complete the FAFSA, you are on the wrong website.

💡 Remember: FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid — you should never pay to complete the application.

🏫💙 HHS FINANCIAL AID NIGHT

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We Can Help!

The HHS Counseling Department hosts a Financial Aid Night each year for parents and students.

🌟 The purpose of Financial Aid Night is to help students and their families complete the financial aid process and understand what is needed.

📅 Watch for information about this year's Financial Aid Night!

🔐👤 GET YOUR USER IDs READY!

⚠️ Before You Complete the FAFSA

Both the student and parents will need to get user IDs before completing the form.

Make sure you take care of this step before you begin completing the FAFSA so you are prepared to move through the application process.

For instance, what you need may depend on whether you are a U.S. citizen or what tax form you used.

🚨 It is essential that you enter your Social Security number correctly on the FAFSA form!

☐ Your parents' Social Security numbers if you are a dependent student

☐ Your driver's license number, if you have one

☐ Your Alien Registration number if you are not a U.S. citizen
